Collection: Current Transformers

Current transformers (CTs) are devices used in electrical engineering to measure alternating current (AC) by producing a reduced current proportional to the current in the circuit. They provide a means for safely monitoring high-voltage electrical systems, converting high currents into lower, manageable values for metering, protection, and control purposes. The primary winding of a CT is connected to the high-current circuit, while the secondary winding produces a scaled-down current for instruments and protective relays.
